Will Cheryl Cole Outsell Justin Bieber?

It looks as if Cheryl Cole’s third solo album may outsell Justin Bieber’s forthcoming release. Cheryl’s A Million Lights and Bieber’s Believe are both set to drop on Monday, June 18, but it appears that Cheryl, as she is now known, may outrank the Biebs in sales.

The lead single off of A Million Lights, “Call My Name,” took only 11 hours to become the fastest selling single in 2012 to date. Paul Firth, an Amazon music manager, has said that he believes the album will be among the year’s top sellers.

“Cheryl is really establishing herself as a leading female solo artist here in the UK,” he said.

Bieber may have stiff competition from a rock legend as well. Former Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Slash is releasing his second solo album, Apocolyptic Love. Pre-sales for the album have surpassed Bieber’s by more than 80 percent.

The “Baby” singer may not be having the best year. Bieber managed to narrowly escape hordes of crazed fans on two occasions in June and has been implicated in an alleged assault against a member of the paparazzi. According to reports, the pop star assaulted a photographer after the pap allegedly blocked Bieber’s car to prevent him from leaving a venue.

Bieber is expected to be questioned but has not been charged in the incident.
