Justin Bieber is comfortable enough with his masculinity to admit that he wears women's jeans. In fact, he took a little time out at Dolce & Gabbana's Fashion's Night Out to dish on why he sometimes shops in the women's section (or the girls' juniors section, most likely). This is what he had to say: "I've worn women's jeans before because they fit me. It's not a trend; it's just, whatever works, works." So the pint-sized pop star is really just being practical if he wore guys' baggy britches all the time, he would be exposing his boxers and looking like a thug. There's no word on if he's tried to fit into girlfriend Selena Gomez' size zeros, however.
And it's not like the Biebs is the only male celeb who wears women's clothing after he talked about his own mild cross-dressing, he was quick to point out that Kanye West once wore a women's sweater. But Kanye hasn't practiced the art of rocking gender-bending apparel just once during Fashion Week last year he wore a blush-colored women's blouse by Phillip Lim because he liked the way the color looked against his skin, and he donned a colorful women's top by French label Celine at Coachella earlier this year. Evidently when you're a creative genius like Kanye, plain polo shirts and Ed Hardy tees are just a bit too boring and mainstream.And evidently wearing women's clothing is becoming all the rage with rappers Lil Wayne created a much-lambasted look by donning a pair of leopard print jeggings at the VMAs last month. Despite the fact that the Tripp NYC trousers were meant to be worn tight and pulled up all the way to make women's legs look long and lean, Wayne somehow found a way to make them look baggy while exposing his underwear (he was even wearing a belt).
But rockers like to wear women's clothing, too. "X-Men: First Class" star Zoe Kravitz has dished that her rock star dad actually raids her closet, accusing him of stealing her Cat Stevens T-shirt. However, Lenny Kravitz has to keep an eye on his own wardrobe he's had to tell his daughter before, "Don't steal my boas!" He might be a little protective of his neck adornments, but Lenny has taken some of his old rocker wear out of retirement to pass on to his equally-stylish daughter.
And Liv Tyler is another rock star daughter who has to keep her dad away from her duds. Liv told Vulture this about Steven Tyler stealing her style: "His blouses! My dad wears girls' clothes it's so funny. Sometimes I see him and I'm like, 'Nice shirt!', because it's from my closet." At least she and Zoe seem okay with their fathers' thievery most girls wouldn't find it quite as funny if their own dads borrowed their blouses.
So make fun of the Biebs for wearing women's jeans all you want when it comes to cross-dressing, he's actually in pretty good company.
